Over the past few days, we have had the immense pleasure of welcoming back good friends, the leaders and crew from Amo Mi Ciudad (I love my city), a group of incredibly generous and talented volunteers from a local church, Más Vida. We are so thankful for the time they shared with us and how they shared the message of “you are so valuable” to the individuals in our communities.
Durante los últimos días, hemos tenido el inmenso placer de darles la bienvenida a buenos amigos, los líderes y el equipo de Amo Mi Ciudad, un grupo de voluntarios increíblemente generosos y talentosos de una iglesia local, Más Vida. Estamos muy agradecidos por el tiempo que compartieron con nosotros y por cómo compartieron el mensaje “eres tan valioso” a las personas de nuestras comunidades.
The volunteers visited our partner schools, helping prepare and serve the meals as well as leading activities with the students. At the kinder, the students got to see, hear, even touch a guitar and learn about how it makes music. Then, of course it was time to sing! We can neither confirm nor deny that some praise broke out!
Los voluntarios visitaron nuestras escuelas aliadas, ayudaron a preparar y servir las comidas y dirigieron actividades con los estudiantes. En el kínder, los estudiantes pudieron ver, oír e incluso tocar una guitarra y aprender cómo se hace música. Entonces, ¡por supuesto que llegó el momento de cantar! ¡No podemos ni confirmar ni negar que si hubo un poco de alabanza!
The worship continued in the streets, people gathered to listen, to be prayed for and to simply soak in the truths of love and forgiveness being sung over them. Everyone walking down the streets at that time stopped. They were captivated.
El culto continuó en las calles, la gente se reunió para escuchar, orar por ellos y simplemente sumergirse en las verdades de amor y perdón que se cantaban sobre ellos. Todos los que caminaban por las calles en ese momento se detuvieron. Quedaron cautivados.
There was non-stop jump-roping and giggles, hundreds of sandwiches being passed out and entire families eager to listen and learn more about God. Each day was filled with activities, hundreds of conversations and hugs but the best was yet to come. On Friday, the women in our communities were invited to Casa MARKED for a special event, just for them.
Hubo saltos a la cuerda y risas sin parar, se repartieron cientos de sándwiches y familias enteras ansiosas por escuchar y aprender más acerca de Dios. Cada día estuvo lleno de actividades, cientos de conversaciones y abrazos pero lo mejor estaba por llegar. El viernes, las mujeres de nuestras comunidades fueron invitadas a Casa MARKED para un evento especial, solo para ellas.

The team of volunteers from both Más Vida and dear friends from another church community, Bread of Life Guadalajara, pampered the women with free hair cuts and styling. Then, they were invited to stay for a special message and time of worship. It was a time designed just for them, to remind them how loved they are, how valued they are and how beautiful they are on the inside and outside.
El equipo de voluntarios de Más Vida y queridos amigos de otra comunidad de la iglesia, Bread of Life (El pan de vida) Guadalajara, consintieron a las mujeres con cortes de cabello y peinados gratuitos. Luego, fueron invitados a quedarse para escuchar un mensaje especial y un tener un tiempo de adoración. Fue un momento diseñado sólo para ellos, para recordarles lo amados que son, lo valorados que son y lo hermosos que son por dentro y por fuera.
We are so thankful for these volunteers, for the love and truth they brought to our communities and the time we could share together. There are no words to sufficiently describe how the past few days impacted the lives of so many individuals in our communities.
Estamos muy agradecidos por estos voluntarios, por el amor y la verdad que trajeron a nuestras comunidades y el tiempo que pudimos compartir juntos. No hay palabras para describir suficientemente cómo los últimos días impactaron las vidas de tantas personas en nuestras comunidades.
Thank you to each and every person that is a part of MARKED, that has joined the movement to break cycles of poverty and empower lives. Sometimes, it happens little by little and other times, like this week, we see radical shifts. Either way, time is not our concern. It´s about heart changes, and we are seeing more and more happen!
Gracias a todas y cada una de las personas que forman parte de MARKED, que se han unido al movimiento para romper ciclos de pobreza y empoderar vidas. A veces sucede poco a poco y otras veces, como esta semana, vemos cambios radicales. De todas maneras, el tiempo no es nuestra preocupación. Se trata de cambios en el corazón, ¡y vemos que suceden cada vez más!
