Have you or your team been looking to come serve in a third world community, but haven’t known where to start?
We are looking for you!
This past November, we hosted our first official dental clinic among our village communities. To say that it was impactful would be an understatement. It was actually transformational. Robinson Dental from Lynnwood, WA came in and blessed us beyond words. In 2 days, 2 doctors, saw over 200 children. Infections that could have easily lead to life threatening diseases were cared for, teeth were pulled and basic education of dental care was taught. Because of this little clinic, it began an on going conversation of empowering families to thrive. Giving them the tools to sustain, and teaching them lessons that ultimately are transforming their lives and the lives around them.
Earlier in the year, we hosted a medical clinic where we saw another group of patients who simply needed to be taught how to care for basic wounds so that those wounds wouldn’t turn into a future infection. We took many to the local clinics for life saving procedures and are in the process of teaching the mamas in our community about basic medical care for when their child becomes ill.
Our team is teaching on the importance of nutrition, horticulture and how by cultivating a lifestyle of farm to table. It is another simple way of keeping families together and children off the streets, out of homes (orphanages), reducing food borne illnesses all the while preventing hunger.
So where does that leave you?
We are looking for individuals or groups to come down and teach or do a clinic over a long weekend. We are looking for people to teach more in-depth on nutrition, child birth, basic hygiene, basic medical, dental care, and family care. In addition, as we grow and our needs expand, we need more dentists, doctors, chiropractors, audiologists, and optometrists who would be willing to come and do a clinic among our homes and/or village communities. Psychiatrist, physiologists, and counselors are always needed to come teach our staff and home directors tools to use for those coming out of human trafficking, severe abuse cases and significant trauma and/or loss. Educators who would be willing to come teach our staff and schools tools to see children thrive in the basics, like, Math, reading, writing and more is another area of constant need.
This just scratches the surface of what we have vision for, so if you are a medical or healthcare professional and don’t see the specific “need” written here, please still reach out and share with us what you have vision for! If it alines with our mission, we would be happy to dream up something together.
Q & A:
How many people could I bring from my team?
- We can house up to 10 team members
What are the dates?
- We are flexible, though we have found that the clinics are most successful over the weekends. We recommend for those working, to fly in on a Thursday, and fly out Sunday night. However, for those wanting to stay longer, we are more than happy to accommodate that too.
