He Handed Over His Colors- A Note from Our Director in GDL

He Handed Over His Colors- A Note from Our Director in GDL

J found me first, took off his blue bandana, the most recognizable form of his gang affiliation, and placed it in my hand. He had on a clean pair of pants with no markings, tags, or drawings representing his gang. He also had on a newer pair of shoes... Said he didn't need the shoes I brought him anymore, that I could put them in the store for someone else who might need them next. After few words were exchanged, he looked at me and said, Im ready to be apart of the Marked family. These are the moments we live for."  - Karlisa

Can families, churches, businesses and friends come for a visit?

Can families, churches, businesses and friends come for a visit?

Each year we get many messages in regards to group trips and families wondering if it’s appropriate for their family to come down and serve. And our answer is always, YES!

We love hosting groups of all ages, and multiple generations. We believe strongly that one of the best things in life is experiencing another culture, serving that culture, and doing it with those we love.

Medical and Healthcare Professionals, We Are Looking For You.

Medical and Healthcare Professionals, We Are Looking For You.

We are looking for individuals or groups to come down and teach or do a clinic over a long weekend. We are looking for people to teach more in-depth on nutrition, child birth, basic hygiene, basic medical, dental care, and family care. In addition, as we grow and our needs expand, we need more dentists, doctors, chiropractors, audiologists, and optometrists who would be willing to come and do a clinic among our homes and/or village communities. Psychiatrist, physiologists, and counselors are always needed to come teach our staff and home directors tools to use for those coming out of human trafficking, severe abuse cases and significant trauma and/or loss.  Educators who would be willing to come teach our staff and schools tools to see children thrive in the basics, like, Math, reading, writing and more is another area of constant need...

What does Christmas have to do with Missions?

What does Christmas have to do with Missions?

If you hang around a few missions organizations and nonprofits for long enough, you’ll probably start to notice that Christmas is our very favorite time of year. Maybe you’re thinking, “Duh. It’s everyone’s favorite time of year.” Good point. But maybe you’re also thinking, “They just use the Christmas season to ask us for more money.”

Say "Yes" this Christmas

Say "Yes" this Christmas

As we jump into the madness of the Christmas shopping season, it’s easy to become quickly overwhelmed with all the options. Everyone is pulling for your attention, hoping that you’ll choose to purchase your gifts here, not there. It seems like every year there’s a new day of the week that becomes a special day to shop. From Cyber Monday to Black Friday to Small Business Saturday, it’s hard to keep track of it all.
